Ministries

The local church is a body of born-again believers who have banded themselves together, under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, to submit to each other as “members of one another”. Therefore, as brothers and sisters united in Christ, we aim to encourage one another and build one another up under the leadership of the Lord Jesus Christ and under the direction of the Holy Spirit (1Th 5:11). To accomplish this, we endeavour…

  1. To walk in accordance with the principles of Christian conduct as given through the Moral law and taught by Jesus Christ and His Apostles and set forth in the Bible through inspiration by the Holy Spirit. (1Co 12:25-26; Col 3:17)
  2. To be equipped for the work of ministry, the unity of the faith, the knowledge of the Son of God and to grow in maturity as followers of Christ. (Eph 4:11-14; 2Ti 3:16-17)

Kids for Christ (KFC)

KFC caters for children from Grade 1 to Grade 7 and is held on Friday evenings between 18:30 and 20:30 during term time. Depending on the nature of the programme, KFC usually takes place at the church, sometimes relocating to the home of Gary and Laura Noakes. Weekly attendance ranges from 15 to 23 children.

Our programmes include indoor and outdoor games, quizzes, art and fun food evenings, swimming and DVD evenings. They always include time where the children are given an opportunity to study and learn from God’s word and ask questions about what they have learned. We have at least 1 fun outing a year. Camps and or sleepover evenings are an added bonus.

Cornerstone Youth

The Youth meet every Friday from 18:30 to 20:30 at Bethany for fellowship, games, Bible study and prayer. These meetings are open to high school scholars, Grade 8 to Grade 12. Our goal is to feed young people spiritually while promoting healthy fellowship and friendships, to make disciples and to prepare one another to face the challenges of our culture, whether at high school, university or beyond.  We seek to see young men and women follow Jesus with all their hearts and commit to do so with joy for the rest of their lives.

Home Group Fellowships

Our Home Groups meet for Bible study, fellowship, and prayer on Wednesdays. The aim of our Home Groups is to build meaningful relationships as we grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Home Groups are therefore not only a great way to get to know church members, but it offers some much needed spiritual refreshment during the week. We have eight Home Groups running across Centurion, in Lyttelton, Lyttelton Manor, Die Hoewes, and Wierdapark. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in joining one of our a Home Group.

Men’s and Women’s Ministries

The ladies at Bethany meet regularly, almost every month. Guest speakers are invited to speak on various topics, testimonies are shared, craft workshops are organised from time to time and fun and fellowship is a part of every meeting. An annual highlight is the Spar Ladies’ Challenge, in which the Bethany ladies participate with enthusiasm.  The Bethany Ladies’ Camp takes place bi-annually.

The Bethany Men meet a few times a year for a fellowship breakfast, where testimonies are shared or a message from the Word is given.  The Bethany Men’s Camp however is the highlight of the year which takes place annually.
